CAS339 - BOO

Hey there, I'm popping in with a card I made for this week's CAS challenge, Tag It, at Splitcoaststampers.  Kia wanted us to make a tag or include a tag on our projects...but not Christmas.  I decided on a super cute Halloween image from Whipper Snapper Designs called Mummy's Buddies.

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers.  Just the cat was stamped a second time on a tag that was cut using a Tag Builder Blueprints die from My Favorite Things.

MONKEYS!

Hey there, sooo, you might remember this card that I made for my brother-in-law when he was half way through his cancer treatment...well, I decided to recreate it with some MFT dies (um, yeah...so much easier!).  While I was at it, I went ahead and made a couple other cards to go with it!  These Whipper Snapper Designs monkeys are A-DORABLE...just saying!  You know what that means...they fit into the Cute Critter CAS challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  Whoop!

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers.  The fingers holding the branch were stamped a second time, colored, fussy cut then popped up on foam.  A couple die cut leaves were colored then shaped and glued over the branch for dimension.

COPIC COLORING:
MONKEY:  E37, E35, E34. FACE, EARS, HANDS, FEET, BELLY:  E33, E31, E30, R30  LIMB:  E59, E57, E55, E53  LEAVES:  YG17, YG03, YG0000

This little guy was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White, colored with Copic markers then cut out using the out-of-the-box with a die technique.  The sentiment was computer generated.

COPIC COLORING:
MONKEY:  E37, E35, E34. FACE, EARS, HANDS, FEET:  E33, E31, E30, R30  LIMB:  E59, E57, E55, E53  LEAVES:  YG17, YG03, YG0000

This last one was pretty straight forward.  The only thing I did was mask the second tail that was over his head.  I didn't want it there, so I used blue painter's tape and took it off.  I had a lot of fun working with all of these monkeys!

CAS337 - AHOY, MATEY!

Hey there, I'm popping in with Julie's, Waves of Color, CAS challenge through Splitcoaststampers.  She wanted us to include waves of some kind on our projects.  I had fun with Whimsy Stamps Pirate Boy since both my husband and son were "Pirates" in high school!  I'm also including this into Julie, DTGD15justwritedesigns, and Kathleen's, DTGD15KathleenCurry, Dare To Get Dirty challenges.

The little guy was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut then popped up on foam.  The sky and waves were sponged with three different Memento inks then popped up for dimension.  The boat and black wave were rubbed with Cloud White VersaMark to show light reflection.  I guess that's it for me this week, stop back by next Sunday for my first attempt at hostessing a CAS challenge...I'd love for you to play along with us!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hey there, I still have a couple more cards that I haven't had an opportunity to share for the Dare To Get Dirty challenges.  I'll post those within the next couple days...I promise!  Today, I thought I would share another card I made for Dina's challenge.  You need to be a Fan Club Member to see the challenge details.  Head on over to SCS to sign up so you can play along!

I used my MISTI to stamp the poinsettia onto both the card base and main panel.  The main panel was colored with Copic markers before a Clear Wink of Stella pen was used in the deepest parts of the shadows.  Several coats of clear glaze pen was used for a little extra dimension on the flower center and berries.  This was a fun card to make!

DTGD15sweetmissdaisy - HOGS & KISSES

Hey there, *squeal*...See what I did there?  Ha!  I finally get to show you this cutie pie!  I made this for Anna's (aka sweetmissdaisy) Dare To Get Dirty challenge.  Think you know what the challenge is?  Head on over to Splitcoaststampers and sign up to be a Fan Club Member to see specific challenge details.  LOVE this card!

Two tags were cut from Neenah Solar White to make up the main panel.  One was colored with Copic markers for the sky, while the other was cut with My Favorite Things Rolling Hills die before being colored and layered onto the sky tag along with that awesome fence!  The pig was stamped on the grass (so I wouldn't have to cut the tail) then two more were stamped on Neenah, colored with Copic markers then fussy cut. One was placed directly over the stamped pig and the other was adhered to the back of the tag.  The sentiment was heat embossed on black card stock.

MFT's Gingham Background stamp was used to stamp a fishtail tag then layered.  Twine and ribbon completes the card.  It doesn't get much easier than this, but it's cute, cute, cute!

DTGD15CherylQuilts - SEASON'S GREETINGS

Hey there, I'm back with the first of two cards for Splitcoaststampers Dare To Get Dirty challenges.  Cheryl (aka CherylQuilts) has a really fun challenge!  If you want to know specific challenge details, become a Fan Club member if you aren't already!

I started this project by die cutting then shaping that gorgeous Susan's Garden Poinsettia out of Bazzill card stock.  A  Neenah Solar White panel was sponged with Pistachio and Bamboo Leaves inks.  The awesome Paper Smooches sentiment was cut from the sponged panel.  Four more sentiments were cut from Neenah and layered beneath the sponged sentiment for a little added dimension.
Here is a side view.  That flower really is amazing, isn't it!?!

CAS336 - STAR LIGHT, STAR BRIGHT

Hey there, three posts in one day...can you believe it?  *grin*  I'm back, yet again, with an SCS challenge, but not a DTGD challenge.  No, this time, I'm playing along in Joyce's, Under the Stars, CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge.  As you might guess from the title, she wanted us to use stars on our projects.  I've been itching to use this cool Bella Blvd paper!

I've done this technique before and had someone ask how I did it, so I thought I would take some pictures along the way.  Not all of the pictures are that great, but I figured they would give you the gist.

I started by stamping the image on a Stamp-a-ma-jig then eye balling it with the die I wanted to use for the window.  Once I figured out the layout, I stamped and colored the image.  The adorable snowman is from Whipper Snapper Designs.  They have the cutest snowmen around!  Just sayin'...
After the image was colored, I put the die into place again.  Like the Out-of-the-box Technique, I used a pencil to lightly mark where the die touches the image.
You can see the marks by the hat and the sleeve.
Using an X-Acto knife, I tightly cut around the image starting at one pencil line and going to the other.  I extended the cut just past each of the lines to allow for the die to slide in.
I placed the die behind the snowman and adjusted it until I was happy with where it was on the paper then ran it through the Big Shot.
The die was placed face down, so it only cuts what is underneath and not the image itself.
I used sharp scissors and the X-Acto knife to clean up my lines around the snowman.  Pattern paper was placed under the window to complete the card.  Pretty easy, huh?

Clear Wink of Stella was used on the shadowy areas of the snowman and a clear glaze pen on the candy canes.

COPIC COLORING:

DTGD15TammieE - REMEMBERING MOM

Hey there, are you ready for a week of Dare To Get Dirty creations?  Splitcoaststampers Dirty Girls, past and present, have come up with some amazing challenges!  If you want to know specific challenge details, you need to become a Fan Club member if you aren't already.

I created this card as a tribute to my mom who lost her battle with cancer eight months ago.  I miss her every day, and well, this sentiment from My Favorite Things pretty much says it all!

So...this card is for my very own challenge!  I absolutely adore Susan's Gardens flower dies...they look so realistic!  The sponging and popped up frame are exactly what this card needed.  The ladybug was made using Viva paints and was the perfect finishing touch.
Here's a side view so you can really see the dimension.  So pretty!

Thanks for stopping by!
